Welcome!
I'm Lena J, a proud graduate of Morgan State University with a double major in Multiplatform Production and Music. My journey began with a deep-rooted passion for music, which evolved into a broader love for storytelling. This evolution led me to the world of journalism and behind-the-camera work, where I've had the opportunity to merge creativity with technology.
After graduating, I spent two impactful years at WEAA, where I dedicated myself to promoting Black businesses and bridging gaps within the Baltimore community. This role not only allowed me to amplify local voices but also deepened my commitment to using media as a tool for social change.
I was also honored to be part of the inaugural cohort for the HBCU Media Collective, a groundbreaking initiative by Dow Jones and Columbia School of Journalism aimed at creating exposure for Black journalists. This opportunity has been pivotal in shaping my career and expanding my perspectives in the media landscape.
Through hands-on experiences and internships with organizations like Maryland Public Television (MPT), Goldman Sachs, and collaborative projects with GalsnGear—an initiative dedicated to promoting diversity in the tech industry—I’ve discovered my unique voice. These experiences have shaped my approach to storytelling, blending my musical background with my expertise in multimedia production.
Explore my work and join me as I continue to tell stories that inspire, engage, and entertain.
